Paths
My Dad told me on my recent visit that when he joined the army in the early 1940's, there was not a pair of boots to fit him, and because of that he took a whole different direction from that which he had imagined. But for that shortage, he'd have not met my mother and there would not be a me.
Now we all have such stories, many actually, in our lives. I found myself taking photos of old maps, overhead power lines, and cracks in the sidewalk today, as I thought about paths taken and not taken.
