Piz Bernina

Got the exposure wrong. Went back a stop but couldn't see the images so didn't realise how dark it was making things - but the sun came out well. you can't see the downhillers coming down the glacier, or the grins on us cross country skiers faces.

I reckon you can work out we are on the moraine though.

Yesterday we only had time to buy 4 tickets for 5 on the train and didn't know which category to choose - not -16 but 1/2 or a german word. 1/2 worked ok and the guard couldn't count so we didn't get to pay the 10 chuffs penalty for buying on the train. That night we got 5 of the 1/2s and guard was satisfied. Today we did the same and the train was busy so two of us sat apart. Guard was happy with us but made the others pay a surcharge as we are supposed to have a swiss card to use that type of ticket. We had to change so now knew we had two wrong tickets. Only two stops though. We got into a great carriage on the Bernina express with panoramic windows, as the guard approached we heard that there was a surcharge for this carriage, so we wandered past him back ot our skis looking guilty and I waved the tickets. He was so used to guilty skiers being in the wrong place that he didn't check - we spent the last two minutes in the corridor.
