Scotland (Street) School Days
Such an enlightening day today - we ran an event with young people we have been working with from across different faith and ethnic groups across Scotland. They were all fantastic - so full of insight and ideas.
We held it at Scotland Street School Museum in Glasgow - a place I have to confess I had never been to before! It's a masterpiece of Mackintosh design - with all his trademark tricks - but it also has a great museum, where they recreate classrooms from the past for visiting groups, such a Victorian era right up to the 1950s. Some of the classrooms even come with their own live - and very stern - teacher, with cane!
This shot is of the girls cloakroom, where they had to hang up their coats and then put on these wee white smocks for the day. I just loved the way they were all hanging up, waiting, in the sunlight through the windows.
