The Trades Kirk

Gave a talk on the history of Dundee's Baptists to the Friends of Dundee City Archives today. No-one fell asleep :) And they all seemed interested and seemed to enjoy it.

The meeting was held in the Glasite Hall, formerly the Glasite church and now the hall for St Andrews Church, often known as the 'Trades Kirk' for its long association with Dundee's 9 Trades. It's a beautiful church on the outside, and I'm told beautiful on the inside too. We know the minister, Janet, who is married to my former PhD supervisor Alan - should have asked him if Janet would let us in to have a look round! Another time perhaps, and maybe I'll get a photo on here too!
