Four days sourdough
That's right. Four days.
I made the sourdough starter for this loaf on Sunday evening.
Monday morning I put it in the fridge.
Tuesday afternoon I made the dough.
And put it back in the fridge.
Wednesday morning I took it out of the fridge.
Wednesday lunchtime I shaped the dough and put it in a cane banneton for its final proof.
Late Wednesday afternoon I baked it for 40 minutes.
And Thursday morning we ate scrummy tasty sourdough for breakfast.
With home-made marmalade.
As Mrs R commented wryly, "Life is slow in the Shire".
