The miracle of birth
Here is a male Texan Firemouth surrounded by his pin-head sized offspring (they are 1 week old).
They belong to my fabulous friend James, who has an affinity for feathers, fotography, fish and fringes.
These cichlids are monogamous and so this male and his female partner have formed a strong bond. They kept having babies, but the babies were quickly eaten by the other fish, so James put them in their own tank.
There was a much better image, but sadly didn't have the babies, so went for the less than fabulous one, for the sake of the offspring. I might go back to see how they are going in a week or so.
