Heading out at dusk

Merchant ship leaves Los Angeles Harbor. That is Catalina Island behind it.

That's a nice place to visit... so close and yet so far.

29 miles away, with a year-round population of maybe 6,000.
That's about the size of just one of our local high schools!
Hardly any cars. Just the one little town and a "hamlet" near the isthmus.
