Building Elements Number 19.....Slate

The latest in an occasional series tagged buildingelements

There are few houses in our street that still have their original slate roofs but this is a small survivor.....a slightly saggy side offshoot of what is now a residential home at the bottom seaward end of the terrace. It was originally a school for genteel Victorian girls and I suspect this was possibly either a conservatory or an extended porch for the students....teachers and parents probably got to use the much more imposing front door, now bricked in!

I was intending to take a stroll along the beach this morning, but it's too damned cold.......even in the sun!
