Lotus

Thank goodness for my weekly dose of Chinese Garden......it really does me well.

Very busy today with a cruise ship in town and our ranks filled with Cantabrians taking respite from the frequent shaking in Christchurch. Two minutes silence was observed at 12:51am to remember the dead and be thankful for the myriad forms of support flooding into the fractured city and to its inhabitants. Still finding the dead and the stories keep coming.

Wherever I go now there is an element of wondering if this or that place would stand well in the face of an earthquake.!!

Against all odds the lotus in the jade lake continues to flower and decay at the same time and this day it seems to me to be so appropriate that we turn to nature for solace and rejuvenation.
