Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant
1st March St David's day so it has to be a daffodil blip. This is the 1st in a patch of wild dafs just around the corner from our office that few seem to know about. The wild dafs in my garden are just showing buds and will be a week or two before they bloom.
I have a soft spot for the Welsh. Some people don't like them because of the strange Celtic language but having spent some time in N Wales as a mountain guide in the mid 80's they get to grow on you. I once had a fling with a beautiful Welsh shepherdess when I was working at a little place called Llanfairfechan. She was enough to melt any mans heart, long blonde flowing hair and an excellent horsewoman since she used a fine welsh pony to round up her father's sheep. You could never get too close to her because she had two brother's built like Mt Snowdon who acted as her guardian.
