Women Who Will

The official motto for Wellesley is some Latin phrase along the lines of "Not to be ministered unto, but to minister", but I always forget that because I feel like our motto is "Women who will make a difference in the world", you know, no pressure :) It's on a bunch of admissions literature and for this past week, these banners have been displayed in the academic quad as a lead up the the Alumnae Achievement Awards. Held last night, the ceremony is the college's way of honoring four alums for the super cool stuff they've done since graduating. It's one of my favorite events of the year because they all talk about how much Wellesley shaped their lives and about all the interesting things they've done in their lifetime. Last night awardees were all especially witty and one of them had been named a Chancellor of the British Empire!! Of course, afterward they had delicious food that was Vietnamese themed for some reason..

Anyway, last night was a fantastic night filled with happiness and cotton candy. Today, it's back home for the long weekend! Woohoo!
