Border Patrol

To all those borders chuckling at my "Flash" - this is a highly responsible & dangerous job. There is no fencing at all and the forest has foxes, wild boars & loads of birds of prey. Just last week a hen harrier helped herself to one of the girls. Luckily we haven't had a fox attack for the last 12 months but mange has apparently killed off many in the area.

The chickens love their daily walk in the forest. I guess that if we were ever to sell eggs we could market them as "free-forest" rather than "free-range".
