Fairleads
The word say it all, the anchorwires running in a correct way from the winch through the fairleads to the anchors. This is what you see when the Hermod is de-ballasted completely to her floaters. I told you before that she is a semisubmersible of the catamaran type. It means she has two longitudinal floaters which can be seen clearly on this picture. On the portside floater in the front, you can see the PS-1 and PS-2 fairlead and anchorwires while on the starboard floater SB-1 and SB-2 fairleads can be seen. The wires and chain in the middle are the bridles where the tugs are to be connected when in transit. The Hermod has twelve anchors and yesterday we brought them in, towed the Hermod to her new location 15 miles north last night and anchored her out this morning. If you write it down in a few words it is as if it was not so much work.
