Mahi-Mahi

The popular name of dolphin was gradually changed to Mahi-Mahi as people wouldn't buy dolphin at the fish market because they thought it was the mammal they loved so much on the TV show "Flipper"....

This skull was on display at Key Biscayne National Park visitors center. To really enjoy the park one needs to take off for a seven mile (one way) kayak trip to get out on the key and we didn't have that time in the schedule.

We did stop at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park where you can snorkel off the beach over a Spanish shipwreck from 1715.

We are now in Key West and I hope to send more blips....
