Butterbur

Not the Tolkien character, but the plant, Petasites albus, a non-native introduction to the British Isles that is now locally common on certain roadsides in Aberdeenshire.

I came across this clump this afternoon on the way back from my Banchory office, beside the minor road at Hirn right next to the field of willow biomass I blipped here on 21st September last year.
